Psalm 46:10

Sometimes, all we are expected to do is... nothing.

1 Kings 19:11-12 describes the voice of God not as a rushing wind, not as an earthquake, or a fire, but as a still, small voice- a whisper. How can we hear God speaking to us if we don't take the time to be silent and listen?

It's ok to be still. It's ok to rest. It's ok to relax. It's ok to turn off your brain, to forget the hectic schedule of your life, to just. do. nothing. God has given you permission; you are not expected to do everything for everyone all the time.

God doesn't need us to do anything. HE IS EVERYTHING. His work will get done, exactly as it should, when it should, without us. Of course, we can't just do nothing all the time, but we are always allowed to take a break!

When is the last time you stood still and rested in the presence of God?
